Match stick contain the following ingredients:

1.Antimony trisulfide  
 2.Potassium Chlorate   
3.White Phosphorous     

👉Antimony trisulfide Used as a fuel.

👉Potassium Chlorate  Acts as a oxidizer Helps to make fuel burn

👉White Phosphorous Extremely volatile Reacts 
with oxygen in air Causing it to ignite.

Nowadays, white phosphorous is not Using in the match stick Because it catches fire very quickly

& proved to be dangerous for workers & users .    

👉Glue Used to hold all stuff together

👉wood/Paraffin Stick Made up of Wood Or paraffin.

Match Box surface contain the following:

1.Powdered glass is used for friction .

2.Red Phosphorous is used for ignition.

Match heads are made using Phosphorous ,
which is a highly combustible element that catches fire due to
the friction caused when striking the match box surface .

Matches light up mechanism:

1.When we strike match stick on the match box surface containing powdered glass creates friction.
2.Heat from friction converts red phosphorous into white phosphorous.
3.White phosphorous is extremely volatile react with potassium chlorate to produce heat and oxygen
4.This oxygen react with Antimony trisulfide to produce long lasting flame.
