How H+ ion is formed?

Hydrogen belongs to group 1 of the periodic table. Hydrogen has one electron, one proton and no neutron.

When the hydrogen atom loses its one electron from the valence (outermost) shell results in the formation of a hydrogen(H+) ion.

The hydrogen ion is also called a proton because it has only one proton inside the nucleus of an atom .H+ ion does not contain electrons or neutrons.
